conductor is heated, its atoms start to vibrate
more, these atoms pass on
their vibration energy to neighbouring
atoms.

3. As a metal gets hot, its atoms gain kinetic energy and
start to vibrate. The kinetic energy is then
transferred to the
cooler parts of the metal by free electrons diffusing through
it.
