1.  Conduction is the process of transfer of heat through solids.    2.  When a thermal conductor is heated, its atoms start to vibrate more, these atoms pass on         their vibration energy to neighbouring atoms.         Thermal conduction is the transfer of heat in solids.         An example of a poor conductor of heat is wood. It is called an insulator.         Aluminium is a good conductor of heat.    3.  As a metal gets hot, its ions gain kinetic energy and start to vibrate. The kinetic energy is then         transferred to the cooler parts of the metal by free electrons diffusing through it.
