1. Firemen suits are made of shiny materials so they do not absorb a lot of heat energy as light      shiny colours are very good reflectors of heat.  2. The back of the fridge is painted black as this coloured surface is very good emitter of heat.  3. A dull black surface is a good absorber of radiation.            A bright shiny surface is a poor absorber of radiation.  4. The electromagnetic wave emitted from a remote control is infrared.  5. Infrared is only absorbed by the particles on the surface of the food (does not penetrate), their      kinetic energy increases and this energy is transferred to the rest of the food by conduction.
